About

The focus of this project was to enhance the user's experience while engaging with the StarTracker Lite App. Beyond its dated appearance, it lacked usability. There was incorrect grammar, many spelling errors, and confusing functions. I worked to simplify the app so it is quick and easy to understand when you are wanting to gaze the night sky and see what is actually all around, efficiently!

Branding

Branding for UX Startracker light. Including Montserrat for h1, body, and buttons. Violet for each button and Eggshell for background.

I chose my colors as they were are clean, legible and simplified the design. It created a more unified and modernized identity. Prior to my redesign their were many colors in the design and inconsistent buttons. The uniformity of colors and lightness adds greater accessibility for the user. The Eggshell White background gains greater legibility and the Violet buttons have a clear distinction against the Eggshell without being aggressive.

What & Why I Changed it

My concern in the original design was its cluttered interface with excessive pop-ups, small text, and unclear navigation, which I streamlined by reorganizing and condensing key information. I improved accessibility by using a clearer, more readable font and a structured layout that makes features easier to locate. The redesign also enhances efficiency by decluttering unnecessary elements and ensuring that notifications, calendar views, and premium upgrade options are displayed intuitively. I refined the language to be more direct and engaging, replacing dense blocks of text with concise messaging that conveys information quickly. Overall, my redesign creates a cleaner, more user-friendly experience while maintaining the app's core functionality.
